Our Story
Some things begin with a business plan.
Numinos began with a feeling.
Numinos started with a candle, but it was never meant to be only about candles. From the beginning, the idea was bigger: to create a world around scent, light, texture, ritual and the small moments that change the way we feel.
At the heart of Numinos was one simple question:
How can we bring more light into the way we live — within ourselves, between each other, and into the spaces we call home?
That question slowly became a collection of objects, scents and experiences designed to bring us back to what is often lost in the rush of everyday life: attention.
A candle lit on an ordinary Tuesday. A scent that suddenly brings back a childhood garden. A coffee enjoyed without a phone in your hand. A few quiet minutes at the end of the day that belong only to you.
For us, these are rituals too.
Behind Numinos are Alexandra and Vlad.
Alexandra is the creative force behind the brand — the products, scents, visual identity and the universe that connects them.
Vlad is her partner in life and co-founder of Numinos — the person who gives structure to ideas, finds solutions and helps turn ambitious plans into reality.
We are very different in the way we work, and that has become one of our greatest strengths.
Somewhere between those two questions, Numinos keeps growing.
That became especially clear when Numinos Space 39 appeared almost by accident. We were not looking for a café or planning to enter hospitality. We found a space, imagined what it could become, and decided to take the risk together.
One of us had the courage to imagine it. The other had the courage to say: “Let’s try.”
The word Numinos carries many meanings, but for us it comes back to one idea: connection.
Connection with yourself. With the people around you. With nature. With the moment you are actually living.
We have always been drawn to the duality between the sacred and the ordinary.
The sacred can be a Sunday morning, incense burning in silence. The ordinary can be a Tuesday evening after a long day, when you take a bath, light a candle and decide that the next ten minutes belong to you.
We do not believe ritual has to be complicated. Sometimes ritual is simply choosing to be present.
Numinos does not have one single scent.
It smells like people’s memories.
One person smells a fragrance and remembers a grandmother’s garden. Another remembers a holiday, a house, a person or a version of themselves they had almost forgotten.
That is what fascinates us most about scent: it can cross years in an instant.
We create the fragrance, but the person who takes it home completes the story.
Numinos Studio is where this world takes physical form.
Some products are made directly by us, while others are developed together with Romanian producers and specialists we trust.
The category may change — candle, diffuser, body care, home fragrance — but the intention remains the same.
We do not begin with the idea of creating a product simply because a category is popular. We begin with a feeling, a need, a ritual or a moment in someone’s life.
What could make that moment feel better?
The product comes afterwards.
A WORLD STILL BECOMING
Numinos is not only about beautiful things.
Today, Numinos lives through both Studio and Space 39. One creates objects and scents you can take home. The other gives the philosophy a physical place to live.
They may look like two different businesses from the outside. To us, they are part of the same universe.
We are still building it. Slowly. Intentionally. Together.
